Dit is een cadeau dat ik heel onverwacht kreeg van mijn lief, het is echt mijn lievelingstas. Het is een Oilily maar niet zo ontzettend hysterisch. Daarom hou ik ervan.

This is a gift I got quite unexpectedly from my love, it's become my favorite handbag ever. It's an Oilily but not as hysterical as they usually are. That's why I like it.

Portugese post - Portugese mail

Vorige week kreeg ik het IKEA Family Live Magazine in de bus. Daarin stond een heel leuk artikel over een zeer creatieve stijlvolle Portugese dame met een voorliefde voor polkadots en een uiterst inspirerend weblog. Zij is de aanleiding waarom ik dit weblog begonnen ben. Ik stuurde haar een mailtje en bood aan om haar de Nederlandse editie van het magazine te verzenden. Dat vond ze zo leuk dat ze besloot om me te verrassen met een aantal heel leuke lapjes. Vanmiddag vond ik ze op mijn deurmat. Ik ben helemaal blij!

Last week I received IKEA Family Live Magazine in the mail. It included a very nice article about a very creative stylish Portugese lady with a passion for polkadots and a very inspiring weblog. She was the occasion why I started this weblog. I sent her a mail and offered to send her the Dutch copy of the magazine. She was so pleased she decided to surprise me with a bundle of nice fabric. The envelope fell on my doormat this afternoon. I am so happy!

My new best friend

Dit is mijn new best friend. Ik werd vorig jaar 40 en kreeg wat geld voor dat heuglijke feit. Nooit in mijn leven was ik in het bezit van een nieuwe, goedwerkende naaimachine en toen ik deze als aanbieding bij de HEMA zag was de keuze snel gemaakt. Het is een eenvoudige basismachine maar hij loopt als een zonnetje. Ik heb nog geen dag spijt.

This is my new best friend. Last year I turned 40 and got some money to celebrate this memorable event. Never in my life had I owned a new goodworking sewingmachine and when I layed eyes upon this offer at HEMA, the choice was easy. It's a simple basic machine but it works very well. I haven't regretted it a single day.

Ik kocht dit stoffen paneeltje via marktplaats.nl en mijn plan is om er een lappendeken van te maken voor op ons bed. Hiervoor moet ik nog een heleboel bijpassende stofjes sparen. Dan moet ik goed nadenken over het patroon want ik wil dat de zwarte randen niet zichtbaar zijn. Het moet een zeer kleurrijke lappendeken gaan worden waarna ik de slaapkamer wil aanpassen.

I bought this fabric panel via marktplaats.nl and my plan is to turn it into a patchwork blanket for our bedroom. Therefor I have to collect a lot of matching patches. Then I have to think of the pattern I want to use because I don't want the black edges visible. It has to be a very colorful blanket, after that I will customize the bedroom to it.

Van de restantjes van mijn aankoop, de repen en andere rare stukjes heb ik een lap gemaakt waarvan ik nog een kussen wil maken.

Dit is een mini album met diaraampjes waarin piepkleine foto;s zitten. Ik heb het gemaakt van stukjes karton, rode polkadots papier en de kleine zwarte zakjes waarin After Eight chocolade zat. Een bijpassend lintje erin plakken en klaar is je mini album.


This is a mini album I made with slide-frames where you can put tiny pictures in. I made it with cardboard, red polkadots paper and the little black bags where the After Eight chocolates used to be in. Put a matching ribbon in and your mini album is ready.

Nieuwe lapjes voor een nieuw project - New patches for a new project

Deze lapjes kocht ik via marktplaats.nl en ik wist dat ik er zo'n 80 zou krijgen, allemaal met de afmeting van 10x10 cm. Ideaal dus. Vanmiddag kwam de postbode en ik had meteen inspiratie om met de lapjes aan het werk te gaan! Update volgt binnenkort.

I bought these patches via marktplaats.nl and I knew I was going to receive about 80 patches, all sized 10x10 cm. Ideal! The mailman came this afternoon and I immediately got inspired to use the patches. Update soon.
